In July 2026, Jay and Jennifer Aultman purchased Oakwood Farm with a dream that was about much more than owning a piece of land. They wanted to create a home, build a working family farm, and return to a way of life centered around faith, family, hard work, and self-sufficiency.

Oakwood Farm represents a return to the family farm lifestyle—a place where mornings begin with animals to feed, evenings end overlooking the pasture, and the work of your own hands creates something meaningful.

Building a Homestead

What began as a new home quickly became a vision for a true family homestead. Cattle returned to the pasture, chickens found their place on the farm, and plans began taking shape for a property that could provide not only for their own family but also help other families pursue a similar lifestyle.

Dexter cattle became an important part of that vision.

Their smaller stature, versatility, and suitability for smaller acreage make Dexters a natural fit for the type of family farm Jay and Jennifer wanted to create. Oakwood Farm is focused on developing quality Dexter breeding stock for families interested in homesteading, raising their own livestock, and becoming more connected to the food they put on their tables.

The goal is more than selling cattle. It is helping another family take the first step toward creating a homestead of their own.
